Fast forward a couple of months, and many vet visits later, and we come to Oliver. He turned out to be a she, but she was a kitten in the worst shape I've ever seen. At six months old she didn't even weigh two pounds, and had a whole host of problems not the least of which was Leukemia. After a very emotional visit to Dr. Lista, it was decided that the best course of action would be to put her to sleep. She was in a lot of pain (although she was purring up a storm on her last day, knowing she was loved albeit briefly), and there was just no coming out of it. And although her life was brief, Oliver set off a massive kitten rescue operation that I like to think made it worth it.
